Hiccup x Reader: Dragon Whisperer (2)

(A/N: Hey..guys.. I kinda changed the ending of the first one... after she introduced herself .

Im SOOOOOOO sorry.. 'cause i thought of a better plot.

Chapter 2: The Dragon Whisperer

Hiccup's P.O.V

"Do you know 'The Dragon Whisperer'?" her dad suddenly asked. I heard whispers around the arena.

"The Dragon Whisperer?" I muttered to myself.

The Dragon Whisperer is well-known in the Viking world. He is famous for understanding and respecting dragons. I never heard of him until when I was about 16, a year after we Berkians made peace with dragons. Why? Because we were so focused on killing dragons and making them go away, we never heard of him until then and where he lives is REALLY far from here. We all knew that he was from the Reckless Riffraffs tribe and I know their island, Jenosai, is two to three weeks away from ours. (Told you... really far)

We only heard it from traders from there. They arrived here faster because of the dragons but they weren't riding the dragons, Scauldrons particularly. they were making it pull the boat. Clever, right? (They are Vikings but they are the smartest amongst all tribes.)

Jenosai was also like Berk, always attacked by dragons and constantly has war. Our lifestyles were also the same. But that all changed when he appeared. My dad told me he was about 8 when he rode a dragon.He also tamed dragons. So, he was the second one to do so, next to my mom. He never made peace with the dragons like what I did, but instead he 'talked' (that's what they said) to the dragons not to come to their island anymore. I didn't really believe that, come on, TALK to dragons? W-what kind of sorcery is this?! It wasn't easy but after a few tries, he completely made them go and never come back.


"The Dragon Whisperer? Why did you ask that?." a girl's voice asked with an irritating voice which interrupted my thoughts (annoying..). Ekira... I think... whatever..the flirty one.

"Where did that come from sir?" a quiet yet heard voice came asking. It was Ase.

"Yes. We do. We do know the 'Oh Great Dragon Whisperer' " My dad replied to (Name)'s question. I kinda feel that he was mocking.  "Why did you ask that?" repeating Erika's (I asked my mom her name) question. 

"Because my d-" before the man could finish, (Name) quickly shut his mouth up by putting her hand on it. 

"DAD! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING!" she said with an obvious lying tone. "I'LL TALK WITH YOU DAD!" she swiftly pulled her dad out. She was extraordinarily strong for a girl. Everyone's face was stunned by this, even me. 'Can I pull my dad like that?' I asked myself.   

Your P.O.V

I pulled my dad outside, my hand still on his mouth. "Hehe.. excuse me.. pardon.." I repeat because of the Vikings I hit while walking backward. Finally, we reached outside. I released my father from my grasps and he scolded me.

"Young lady,why did you pull me out like that! That was rude!" he shouted at me, good thing no one heard it except for me. His back was facing the door of the arena and I can see almost all the Vikings were having a conversation of their own.

"Dad... you can't just say stuff!" I showed him how mad I was...it was written all over my face. He calmed down and gave off a big sigh.

"Fine. That better never happen again." he walked towards the arena door and went in.

"So I'm the one's at fault?!" I silently screamed to myself which my dad probably didn't hear. I was following him to the arena. He pushed me to the front. 'Man this guy's harsh' I thought. I almost fell on my face to the ground. Good thing I'm a good balancer. Talent, born with it.

Chief Stoick stood up and took a speech. Of course, everyone went quiet. He opened his mouth and started talking about this marriage arrangement thing.

Hiccup's P.O.V.   

Could he just shut up! He keeps talking to those girls about marriage. I don't have any doubt about that Erika wants me to be hers. I could see it on her face she wants me to pick her at the end of all of this. Maybe because of the power she'll get or my handsome looks are just too powerful. Ase, on the other hand, I think I'll like her. She's shy, cute and has that talent to shoot.

Isn't that amazing?! I think I'm smiling and blushing right now.

Hmm, (Name)? She's beautiful but I think I'll like Ase more. You won't judge them anymore until you get to know them.

"... hold competitions to determine which girl will be the best for my son." I got out of my imagination when I heard this. What were they talking about? I need to start listening again.

"What? Dad?" I silently argued with him hoping that nobody else but my dad and mom could hear what I was saying. He didn't reply. He just kept talking about that thing. My mom calmed me down and told me that Gobber was going to explain.

"....So we have Gobber to explain the mechanics of the competition." Gobber went to the front and my dad sat down mouthing me to listen. I nodded and rolled my eyes.

"So.. as you girls can see you're three when there should be only one. The tribes were supposed to be six.." Gobber spoke.

My eyes widen. Seriously? SIX? Good thing only the half came...

"But they didn't have any response." He paused and the whole arena was quiet.  "By the end of each month, there will be a competition amongst the girls to impress our future Chief here and to bring pride to their islands."

They all looked at me and I avoided their gazes. 

".... and by the end of the sixth month, the last competition will be held which will be held as a secret until then." Goober glanced at me. I don't like where this is going. "and at that day, Hiccup will choose the woman who'll he'll marry. No extensions.” 

“What?!” I shouted and stood up taking the eyes of all the people in the arena.
